In the early years of the condom, condoms were sold ‘dry’, without lubricant. Nowadays, condoms are mainly sold with a few drops of silicone lubricant. This protects the condom and, moreover, it feels smoother during sex. However, someone may prefer a dry condom, for example due to an allergy to the lubricant. Or because a dry condom feels nicer during oral contact.
